Alpha Trend combines several visual signals. Read the signal type before reading its color: a green strength arrow and a green HTF breakout arrow are different conditions.
Signal reference
| Signal | What it describes |
|---|---|
| Green / red trend bars | Broader bullish / bearish trend |
| Green / red Alpha Dots | More responsive micro-trend direction |
| Strength / weakness arrows | Directional continuation context |
| Turquoise R / yellow R | Potential bullish / bearish reversal |
| Topping signal | Potential upside exhaustion |
| Bottoming signal | Potential downside exhaustion |
| Alpha Track | A reference line for following trend behavior |
Start with trend, then inspect the setup
Read the broader bars first. Next inspect the dots and any reversal, top, or bottom signal. A short-term change can occur while the broader trend remains intact. A potential turn is not the same as a confirmed turn.
The Screener's Green Bars (Uptrend) and Red Bars (Downtrend) filters describe current trends. They should not be read as a count of newly printed trend switches.
Keep the arrow families separate
Alpha Trend strength and weakness arrows provide continuation context. HTF/LTF arrows belong to the squeeze-breakout sequence. Check the script and the surrounding squeeze shading when an arrow's meaning is unclear.
Continue with trend bars, dots, and Track, reversals, or tops and bottoms.
